Ohayo Gozimas!

Good Morning, even though most of you are still sleeping as it is just after 1 am there. We made it to the Narita airport outside of Tokyo yesterday afternoon and after a patience building line in customs were happily greeted by many JFMF staffers. One of the wonderful things about their airport are the carts. They are free and we were able to take them all the way out to the buses. Also at the airport they have the fancy toilets that are heated and make flushy sounds and have multiple spray options. Very nice.

Once at the hotel I was given my own room with another fancy toilet. No squat variety here. My room faces the Tokyo Tower which is kind of like the Eiffel Tower but more industrial, red, and says "Tokyo." I will try to take a good picture and get it up here. Or if you really want to see now, you could Google it.

From there we went out to dinner with Fulbright alumni. Our host was the son of a Fulbright alum and he took us our for noodles -- they were delicious. I have so much more to show, we went to a temple and shrine today and had a traditional Japanese tempura meal, but this site is almost entirely in Japanese and I am very afraid that all of these ramblings will be lost. So stay tuned and please let me know if you have any questions about Japan or would like me to take any specific pictures.
